Aimé Césaire
Notebook of a Return
to My Native Land
(Cahier d'un retour au pays natal)

.....for it is not true that the work of man is finished
that we have nothing more to do in the world that we are just parasites in this world that it is enough for us to walk in step with the world for the work of man is only just beginning
and it remains to conquer all the violence entrenched in the recesses of his passion.....
and no race holds a monopoly of beauty, of intelligence, of strength and there is a place for all at the Rendezvous of Victory....

Rendezvous of Victory

Akwaaba!

Welcome to Rendezvous of Victory
, our Heritage Learning movement that seeks to continue and advance globally, the historical work of Communities of Anti-Slavery Abolitionist Resistance. The name Rendezvous of Victory – or ROV – is inspired by the vision and words of Aimé Césaire, one of the world’s greatest beacons of People’s Self-Empowerment. The movement has grown by drawing lessons from past experiences of Anti-Slavery Resistance which saw a peoples’ mass movement develop globally in the struggle for Human and Peoples’ Rights.
ROV seeks to use this historic example of multi-racial, cross-community and global mobilisation to encourage ordinary peoples to realise their own potential in creating meaningful change as active Global Citizens for themselves and future generations.ROV believes that critical engagement with each other is key to building principled unity, and to ensuring progression and advancement between and within communities at local, national and international levels.

We hope you enjoy the journey through our pathway charted in the footsteps of the legendary Ananse. For, ours is a portal of journeying not only cybernetically but also spiritually into the Anansekrom web of Anti-Slavery Abolitionist Heritage Learning. As well known in traditional Afrikan folklore that became one of the weapons of Anti-Slavery Abolitionist Resistance, Ananse the Spider, links through its own natural worldwide web of global communications, various generations not only of Afrikan people of the continent and diaspora but also all of humanity in the universal quest for the Truth that will set all free in Mind, Body and Soul.

The site will be constantly evolving and we will invite you make contributions to different sections of it, and to ROV’s work in general. So please do send us your ideas and suggestions (see Contact Us) as you navigate your way through these pages.

The links contained within this site are not necessarily endorsed by ROV or representative of the views held by the organisation. The links are not only to inform and critique, but also to help in explaining why ROV strongly promotes its own standpoints, perspectives and activities.
